BLAH BLAH........
College's really good and all that crap.. yes it's okay.... but at some occasions it makes me want to run away somewhere.. to this calm place where i can be alone and reduce my anger over certain people and certain incidents that happen..... Yeah ofcourse we can't expect everything to be perfect....
KMC's an all together a different environment... But school was totally different that too DTEA way too different....I miss school for things like PT periods , for the way which teachers act... no offense to the lecturers over here..... but the ones at school are special for sure , having really good fun at class.... etc etc......
Our batch at KMC is called Rhythmz.....
Well our batch is sort of cool.... lecturers call us mischevious students... but all the more it felt way too cool going for the batch film so spontaneously and with such a wonderful timing that it rocked.
And the batch trip . WOW.... thats all what i can say.... Being first years we could only go for a one day trip.. so theme park was one of the very few options... We went to Queensland... well it was one of those days which i'll never be able to forget in life... it kind of made me feel that i'm really lucky to be in such a type of batch.... we had fun all the way to queensland.. dancing and stuff.... And in the return journey we got to hear our lecturers sing and dance.. It was way too cool......
And right now... all of us are gearing up for the Intra College Culturals... Vanavil.... That will most probably be in the end of April.... So lets see..... All of us are keeping our fingers crossed for the event...... :) :) Hoping our batch meets with victory in the event and gets more fame... :) :)
Dear Batchmates
All The Best.....:):) Let's give our best out there..... LET'S ROCK IT.... !!!!!!!!

THE ON GOING STRIKE...............................
Another major reason, why we have been protesting is because this scheme will increase the duration of the MBBS course from 5 ½ years to 6 ½ years. This will place a huge financial burden on students hailing from lower middle class backgrounds. Most of them avail loans and scholarships for their education. This can wreak havoc in their plans of repaying their loans. In the case of women, the increase in the duration of the course will force many parents to marry off their daughters at an early age depriving them the opportunity to study further or gain work experience. Many fear that MBBS will not be a favoured course for women in the future if things go the way the Minister wants them to. If this bill is passed then most of the students will surely hesitate before joining the course, because in the year 2007 itself around 150 odd students switched to engineering after getting medicine.
Many countries have been asking India to spend more on its Primary Health Care (PHC). If this scheme is introduced it will be like a slap on the face for all those countries which have been investing in India's PHC schemes. India is a country that allocates maximum money for Defence and related purposes, every year. It is also said that a substantial portion of this money is not spent at all. But not many seem to be complaining about the neglect of PHC in every budget. We the medicos hope that this protest will raise awareness about continuing neglect of health care systems by successive governments at the Centre. As per WHO, the GDP should be 5% and the government is just spending about 0.9% for health care.
This protest has now started to spread in other institutions in other states. Students of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS)have also started striking now. They have another reason to strike.AIIMS chairman, Venugopal has been at loggerheads with the Health Minister for quite a while. The Health Minister will be tabling another bill in Parliament, which will force any person, who is holding the post of AIIMS chairman to retire when he reaches the age of 65. This is a deliberate attempt to show Mr. Venugopal, the door(he is either 65 now or going to complete 65 shortly). Many other private medical colleges from Karnataka and other colleges from Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Kerala have started their protests from the 27th of this month, many of which are indefinite strikes.
The PG students have also started their strike against the extension of the course for 3 years. So taking into account both the extensions.... The MBBS course with an MS or an MD takes about 13 years which is just for the study.... coz after that the Doctor has to establish oneself......... So by the time the person settles it will become 40 years.
I would like to conclude saying that this strike of the Medicos is not at all politically instigated. We are fighting for every body's good and welfare.

Life in KMC..............
Here goes........................
Life in a govt medical college is totally different.... way too different from school life...... I always had a feeling college life would be free and students are allowed to do whatever they want which is partially true..
Friends:
Friends at college rock big time!!!!.......
We are all together.... fun, laughter, competition, commenting etc.......
But five of us are very close....
Ashwini
Madhuri
Nandini [ Yo thats me ]
Saranya
Sujeetha
We call ouselves the LAST BENCHERS..... M.B.B.S. MEMBERS OF THE BACK BENCH SOCIETY....
Always found in the last row of any hour... Dreamy faces during class hours, smsing sometimes or passing papers with funny sketches and comments, commenting under the breath........
I guess it's an achievement for the five of us that we have become troublesome already with just one month of the college gone.....
Mainly during the dissection hour it is fun as it is generally the time for gossip... Any hot topic from the hostel girls or probably the few stupid guys in our class or the INTERACTION BETWEEN THE FIRST YEARS AND THE SENIORS forms the usual conversation... The first week we used to be damn serious trying to catch all new words that were being thrown at us..... Then we realised that it's boring and we spend time talking in the first half and the rest in trying to see all the muscles and tendons which the people who are dissecting have uncovered.... :)
Culturals :
Our college is hosting this cultural called Pradarshini from 19 th of this month.... in which I can proudly say that many of us are participating in doing the host performance.... I'm the bride groom for the dance [:D]
It continues till the 22 nd of this month.
So we tend to stay back after college hours that's after 4:00 PM... Till six. All of us become so tired after the tedious practice that there's no energy left out in our body when we return home. So we come back, sms each other as to what we are doing, eat and doze off to wake up for the next tedious day.....
Co-operative Stores...... or COPS
This is the store of our coll where we catch a snack.... It's usually great but this week I had 3 Badam Milk bottles in a row and slice and now I have caught a terrible cold and cough..... [:D] CARELESS ME!!!!!
And I usually have a tiff, rather the man in that store pulls my leg as I make a fool out of myself everytime I go there!!!!
LECTURERS
Well Books are our best friends.... gotta study on our own... no other go....
Had my first physiology internals this week and I guess i sucked big time in that paper..............
' PHYSIOLOGY EE IPPADI NAA. ANATOMY OUT THAAN'
ok... I think this much will do for now.... will try to post morw about the events that turn up......... :)
And Yo Man !! I am coming to coimbatore on 20th of this month!!!!!!

Solution to My Boredom....
A Day that Reminded Me Of my Childhood.....
It was a cool and cloudy day, the 28th of June 2007. I was enjoying the weather outside as I was lying on my bed and reading the last few pages of the book 'PAPER MONEY' by Ken Follett. As I finished my book, my school friends dropped in.... so the afternoon time was history and easily killed by laughter, fun and jokes made at each other. It reminded me of my school days. Seriously sitting at home yesterday gave me a strong feeling that I missed school days for the first time ever after the Exams got over...That was fun....
So as the evening drew closer, my friends left and I landed up getting damn bored with nothing to do... I don't know why but I wasn't even in the mood to read a book. So I started watching T.V... and as usual there turned out to be nothing in that too. News in NDTV was the same all day around. So I couldn't bring myself to watch all that again.
Ultimately I ended up switching channels between the ongoing Wimbledon a match between Tim Henman and Feliciano Lopez, a five setter and Cartoon Network....
I watched Tom and Jerry.. I guess anybody would adore that cartoon... with it's Animation and the background score for each and every movement that is involved. The Episode consisted of Jerry's cousin coming up to help Jerry out to fight Tom.
Seriously it reminded me of my childhood days when me and my sister used to come back from school in Chennai at about 3:30 in the evening, throw our bags in the side along with our lunch bags and start watching the cartoon shows from about 4:00 till 6:30-7:00 after which we used to remember that we had something to submit the next day in school and that we had hardly even started... [:)]. Mondays was special because my uncle used to come and all three of us used to watch. My Uncle is a unique character. All of you would wonder about the fact that a 25 year old watched Cartoons. He's a cool character in my life. He's the most jovial person I have ever known. He's really funny and he has this loud ' hahaha' laughter which is really cool to hear. Even his 10 month old kid starts to smile seeing him laugh... that's wonderful to watch.
Be it Swat Kats, Ninja Robots, Captain Planet, Popeye Show, Tom and Jerry, Dexter's Laboratory, Scooby Doo Series, Power Puffs or Heidi..... we never used to miss any of them... I miss those days seeing Didi running about here and there ruining her brother's Lab and Dexter running behind her angrily... We even used to see those shows after going to Delhi. Then we had to stop it ultimately when I was in VIII and we instead started watching WWE.. [:D]
Last evening by seeing those shows I was reminded that I missed being a small girl....
I guess once in a while it doesn't hurt even for elderly people to see Cartoons. It gives relaxation to mind especially cartoons like Tom and Jerry. Probably it's a way to take our minds off the tension that persists in today's life.
Today, it helped me overcome my boredom and also reminded me of those unforgettable days in my life...
Back with another post soon... bye...:))
