Solution to My Boredom....

A Day that Reminded Me Of my Childhood.....

It was a cool and cloudy day, the 28th of June 2007. I was enjoying the weather outside as I was lying on my bed and reading the last few pages of the book 'PAPER MONEY' by Ken Follett. As I finished my book, my school friends dropped in.... so the afternoon time was history and easily killed by laughter, fun and jokes made at each other. It reminded me of my school days. Seriously sitting at home yesterday gave me a strong feeling that I missed school days for the first time ever after the Exams got over...That was fun....

So as the evening drew closer, my friends left and I landed up getting damn bored with nothing to do... I don't know why but I wasn't even in the mood to read a book. So I started watching T.V... and as usual there turned out to be nothing in that too. News in NDTV was the same all day around. So I couldn't bring myself to watch all that again.

Ultimately I ended up switching channels between the ongoing Wimbledon a match between Tim Henman and Feliciano Lopez, a five setter and Cartoon Network....

I watched Tom and Jerry.. I guess anybody would adore that cartoon... with it's Animation and the background score for each and every movement that is involved. The Episode consisted of Jerry's cousin coming up to help Jerry out to fight Tom.

Seriously it reminded me of my childhood days when me and my sister used to come back from school in Chennai at about 3:30 in the evening, throw our bags in the side along with our lunch bags and start watching the cartoon shows from about 4:00 till 6:30-7:00 after which we used to remember that we had something to submit the next day in school and that we had hardly even started... [:)]. Mondays was special because my uncle used to come and all three of us used to watch. My Uncle is a unique character. All of you would wonder about the fact that a 25 year old watched Cartoons. He's a cool character in my life. He's the most jovial person I have ever known. He's really funny and he has this loud ' hahaha' laughter which is really cool to hear. Even his 10 month old kid starts to smile seeing him laugh... that's wonderful to watch.

Be it Swat Kats, Ninja Robots, Captain Planet, Popeye Show, Tom and Jerry, Dexter's Laboratory, Scooby Doo Series, Power Puffs or Heidi..... we never used to miss any of them... I miss those days seeing Didi running about here and there ruining her brother's Lab and Dexter running behind her angrily... We even used to see those shows after going to Delhi. Then we had to stop it ultimately when I was in VIII and we instead started watching WWE.. [:D]

Last evening by seeing those shows I was reminded that I missed being a small girl....
I guess once in a while it doesn't hurt even for elderly people to see Cartoons. It gives relaxation to mind especially cartoons like Tom and Jerry. Probably it's a way to take our minds off the tension that persists in today's life.

Today, it helped me overcome my boredom and also reminded me of those unforgettable days in my life...

Back with another post soon... bye...:))

A Visit To KG...

20 Days of Knowledge and fun..

Let me tell you people a story..a real one... which happened a year back. I was sitting and pondering about those days when I was in 12th. Well in that year quite a lot of intriguing incidents took place which brought about significant changes in our lives. One of the best was when all of us in the 2006-2007 batch of BVB got a chance to visit KG Hospital. A year back, as we were about to start our 12th grade, our biology teacher informed us about these projects that we were supposed to do in that year. We were supposed have a hospital visit for 2 days and a dairy farm visit for a day. But our school arranged for us to have the hospital visit for 20 days during the month of May. When we heard about that most of us got irritated and angry about the fact that we won't have any summer vacations while the CSc. students were taken to this camp for few days.

The visit started in the first week of the month. We were split into groups and each group was sent in for each department for 2 days. Then magic played a huge part. In due course of time all of us got really interested in going over there and learning more about how they handle things. Most of us were given opportunities to witness operations also. We all got to know how tough life is over there in a hospital. Each person has to contribute to the functioning a major way. If one does it wrong the whole system becomes erraneous. Hospital is one of the examples of places where miracles can easily be seen.

Four lucky people in our class also got to witness an Open Heart Surgery. Lucky people..... Many of us even got to see Operations like Hernia, Uterus removal and minor operations like those related to tonsils. We also got one whole day to spend at this special eye care branch at Saravanapatti. All of us got see the Cataract Surgery being done which is one of the most delicate operations. Few of us even got to stay in the CT Scan centre where usually nobody other than docs are allowed because of dangerous radiations. But three of us... got to be inside the scanning centre. We were made to wear lead aprons so that we were protected from the rays and we got to see the whole scanning being done. That was cool...

The 20 days not only taught us something more to what we already knew but something else.... much more actually. People working in a hospital need much more than knowledge. They need kindness and patience to attend to patients.

The ending to this visit was a 'Thank you' program arranged by us students during which we had some fun... some dance and singing.... etc etc.....

After those 20 days we had to go to school. But as we started going back again, we felt something to be missing. Well ya ofcourse we missed going over there and learning new things each day.

After that school started in June. And in the month of August we visited the dairy farm which was just for a day. But that was also quite exciting. We were taken to TNAU.. and probably we saw the biggest pig in Coimbatore :D..... We got to learn how they process and pasteurize the milk and all other related things.

Well sorry people I wanted to display a few photos related to the above story... but unfortunately I can't as I don't have those photos in my PC.

Hope you enjoyed this bit from my past.... Lots more to come..

Bye.... :))

No Captain Jack Sparrow.... No Savvy :(((

My First Review...

Our Friends from Delhi Lavanya and Sharanya had come yesterday.. so we were planning to do something good and fun when one of my friends called Purnima called up asking if i could go for the Hindi movie Jhoom Barabar Jhoom.... So all of us had the feeling 'Why not??' and so we went for the first day second show of the movie at the Carnatic Theatre.

The most awaited thing about the movie was Amitabh's Jack Sparrow look.. oh! sorry sorry... Captain Jack Sparrow look.. and Amitabh has done a fabulous job of the part he was given.. but the most depressing fact was that he has no part in the movie as such... he has to dance and all of us know that he's one of a kind with his dance. He has his own style which most of us would admire. So we can't expect any Captain Jack Sparrow dialogues from Amitabh..... (savvy??). So the main part in the movie is for Abhishek. As such the movie has no theme whatsoever. Well Yash Raj Films has shot this movie completely depending upon Abhishek Bachchan's sheer charm and acting. Just because of the hype that's it's being given and probably because of the Senior and Junior Bachchans' appearances the movie may not become a total flop at the Box Office.

Well Abhishek (Rikki) and Preity (Alvira) share the main picture.. as they meet each other at the London Station as strangers and kill two hours of waiting together because of the train from Birmingham being delayed in which their respective fiancee and fiance( Lara-Anaida and Bobby-Steve) travel .. and as the train arrives both of them realise that they have got attracted to each other... and feel bad for the fact they have lied to each other about the existence of a fiance and a fiancee. After that they some how meet Lara and Bobby (whose actual names are Laila and Satvinder) to go with them for this Dance and chill party held at this place called RITZ.. and after that the story unfolds. So will they tell the truth to each other?? Well that part you folks can easily guess without me giving a hint.... That's the story of the much awaited 'Jhoom Barabar Jhoom'.

I know.. there's no story... :D
Well in this case Bobby and Lara have taken a back seat in this movie. Again they don't look as charming as Abhishek and Preity. So it's one of those rare occasions where Yash Raj Films is not upto it's mark...

It's just worth watching once. Actually I found it tough watching the movie even once. But the title song is repeatedly played in the movie with different background beats. That's actually where Amitabh plays his part of dancing. I would say that the title is a must download.

Apart from Amitabh's part there's nothing too interesting or intriguing about the movie. Probably the much awaited Shivaji would have been much more upto expectations.

So if you people really want to go somewhere out and enjoy a movie which is bearable once.. then make it to Carnatic.... to see this movie.... :)) Happy watching... but get bored in between :D.
I guess that's all I can say about the movie.. will be back with another post.. till then bye.

S R G M P D N......

Halo all..... Music is the biggest passion for me in my life... I enjoy singing and listening to music... its not just classical but other forms of music as well..... If you listen carefully there's music in everything....just the seven swaraas....Well I'm not learning music right now but i did when I was in Delhi. I miss the music classes.. actually that music class in Delhi was something special for me and something way different. We just used to have it on weekends... me and my sister used to spend about 4 or 5 hours just over the weekend in the classes... and those 4 or 5 hours used to be the best.. coz not only singing but even a lot of chatter used to be there..we had a whole group over there and i loved my music teacher.. Mrs.. Bhooma Gopalaswamy... She's really old and has a lot of health problems. But at that time she used to teach about 40 or 50 students... that is actually a lot in that city....She was more than a teacher to me.. a friend.... who was one of a kind... I still hesitate to go for music classes in Coimbatore. That's coz when i went to join in one of the classes it was more serious and no talking kind of affair... so it felt awkward at that moment after that i never set my footsteps there.

Now coming to western music... that is English music..

I started to listen to English music when i was in ninth grade. It was introduced by three of my friends Sharadha, Sandhya and Meenakshi...(all three in Delhi). After that i have never stopped. And for me The background music matters a lot... The Piano and the guitar are the instruments that i adore. The lyrics carry significance... but the funny part is that i tend to put the wrong words in the wrong place and the whole meaning of the song changes :D.
I know probably some of you people would think that these English songs are total crap or something...probably few are but not all.... Few songs are just amazing to listen and when we will close our eyes we 'd just go into our own dreamworld... Music is probably the only sane thing happening in this insane world.
Will be back with a new post..
For now.. Bye

My first ever Scribblings

Hi people.. this is my first post.. so i'll start of with what i'm and what i was...
I did my tenth grade in delhi and came to coimbatore and joined Bharatiya Vidya Bhawan... and ya ofcourse i felt that there was quite a bit of fluctuation due to the change of place and besides i aint a good starter too... so always make a very wrong impression on everyone.. anyways the last two years were the most absurd, weird on few occasions , wonderful, happy on few other.. and the most disgusting and irritating on few others...and obviously life gives a part of everything so we cant brood over that either. i managed to make quite a lotta friends at the end of 12th grade started getting comfortable with more people only by that time. But Now ... its like life's different.. or probably its just that i'm expecting it to be... who knows whats college life is like....But i'm missing school days.. especially my school days in Delhi where we all used to bunk classes together n do all other mischevious things which would irritate our teachers the most. The additional fact is that i would miss my friends in Delhi the most... Well we all are quite distant now... most of them being in north india...and me being in south... but still i have a feeling that tells me that many of them wud come here down south.. and anyway it is a fact... ' Distance may separate true friends but their hearts are very close'. one more thing about me thse days in the fact that it takes a long time for me to trust any person in this world. Ok ... In these holidays i have just been of to doing things like playing badminton, reading books. And ya every morning i have been playing cards with my friend amitha and cousin shiv ram(as my sister aparajitha goes for implant training and kavitha goes to school :D). (Generally in our famous apartment we five hang out together). There are quite a lotaa important people in my life right now...Parents and sister obviously...
My sister is the person without whom probably i cant ever do anything properly... well we fight a lot.. thats always there in sisters. She is the most intelligent creature i have ever seen till now... she has loadsa patience which i lack and she's extremely kind by heart. I am a sort of person who gives family the most important preference.. we all are quite close... and friends.. many are there worth mentioning so i'll just introduce characters and give a full description of what they are whenever i mention a new one.

So till then its bye from shylu....
